North American cruising is seasonal in a way the Caribbean isn't — Alaska runs May through September, Canada & New England peaks with fall color in September and October, and Hawaii sails year-round. Most of these itineraries pair well with a land segment on either end, and getting the cruise, the flights, and the land days on the same calendar is where planning earns its keep.

Alaska
Inside Passage & Gulf of Alaska
May through September sailings from Seattle, Vancouver, or Seward. Glacier viewing, wildlife, and small port towns like Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan. Often paired with a Denali land tour.
Pacific Coastal
California, Oregon & British Columbia
Shoulder-season repositioning sailings up and down the West Coast. Ports typically include San Francisco, Astoria, Victoria, and Vancouver. Shorter itineraries with no passport-heavy logistics.
Canada & New England
Fall Color & Atlantic Coast
September and October sailings between New York or Boston and Quebec City. Halifax, Bar Harbor, Saint John, and the St. Lawrence at peak leaf season.
Hawaii
Inter-island Hawaiian Cruises
Year-round round-trip sailings out of Honolulu covering Maui, the Big Island, and Kauai. One unpacking across four islands, with overnight port stays that free up evenings on shore.
